POSITION SUMMARY – Assistant Brewer

Headlands Brewing is a small but fast-growing brewery and we are looking to add a passionate and committed brewer to our team. Reporting to our Head Brewer and VP of Operations, this position will be responsible for all aspects of brewing, cellaring, packaging beer, and general operations – at our brewery in Pittsburg, CA. It’s a fun, fast-paced role that will have a real impact on the future success of Headlands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• End-to-end beer production and packaging at our East Bay brewery
• Operations support; keg cleaning, spent grain loading, trash, order picking
• CIP/SIP fermenters, brite tanks, beer lines, process loops, etc
• Cellar measurements and log tracking including but not limited to: gravity, pH, temperature

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Passion for brewing fantastic craft beer and for helping a small brewery grow to the next level
• At least 2 years of professional brewing experience ideally including cellar work and wort production
• Excellent knowledge of brewing, cleaning & sanitation, and packaging beers
• Strong attention to detail
• Versatile and flexible
• Able to consistently work efficiently and safely
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 55+ lbs regularly
• Ability to commit to putting in hours occasionally at beer events
• Bonus points for forklift skills

COMPENSATION

• Full time hourly position, compensation depends on experience, $20-$24/hr
