Cellar Person

We are hiring! Austin Street Brewery is ready to add a hard-working, dedicated employee to our team. We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Lab & Cellar Technician to manage our quality and sensory programs as well as assist in production operations. We are excited to discuss this opportunity with you!

Austin Street launched in 2014 and quickly became a staple in the Maine craft beer scene and beyond. Still led by its founders, Will Fisher and Jake Austin, their involvement in the day-to-day has maintained a small business feel while driving exciting growth. Will and Jake’s shared passion for craft beer has kept the Brewery focused on high quality products that have given it a leading reputation in the market and a mindset of “craft above all else.”

Early on, Will and Jake realized the importance of having the right people in the right seats and have used this mantra in the Brewery’s hiring process. It was clear to the duo that if you start with great people, great beer will follow. As the brewery has grown, so has its benefit package: ample personal and vacation time, competitive compensation, and free employee health insurance. We strive to give our staff the balance everyone hears about, yet rarely experiences. We also rely heavily on our Core Values and insist our team does the same: Teamwork, Hospitable, and Brand Warrior are the paramount of our hiring process.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on brewing processes (e.g., wort production, fermentation, packaging, cleaning practices)
  • Track, test, and ensure the performance of finished products using industry-proven testing methods
  • Develop and conduct the in-house sensory program
  • Maintain meticulous records of procedures and test results
  • Assist in cellaring, packaging,  cleaning, dry-hopping, and other production needs
