Environmental Sustainability Specialist

SUMMARY
This is a detail-oriented position with passion to ignite change. This position will support the Mahou USA environmental sustainability goals and consumer facing communication. Responsible for execution of sustainability projects: waste diversion, internal sustainability audits, and investigating future sustainability technologies and maintaining environmental regulatory compliance regarding wastewater, air permitting, and stormwater pollution prevention. Manages Founders sustainability programs/initiatives. Leads research and analysis uses to develop Founder’s strategies to ensure that business practices, products and services are environmentally friendly and compliance with government rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Manage recycling intuitive for the company to drive revenue and improve green practices.
• Works closely with all co-workers to expand environmental sustainability programs.
• Develops and communicate environmental sustainability training for co-workers and new co-workers during orientation.
• Drive projects to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs with respect to major utilities and generate revenue with by-products of the operation.
• Calculate water and energy KPIs.
• Project Manager of environmental sustainability projects; Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budget.
• Investigate tax incentives for investments that reduce our environmental footprint.
• Coordinate with tap room and production managers to implement internal environmental sustainability initiatives. Continually follow up on progress. Internal and External events, waste management.
• Develop and maintain environmental programs.
• Completing environmental regulatory compliance requirements such as monthly wastewater reporting, quarterly stormwater sampling, and annual program inspections and reviews
• Educating employees and new hires on the company’s environmental sustainability initiatives and required environmental training.
• Work closely with Environment and Quality department on various initiatives and collaborations:
o Waste diversion at brewery. Identify waste collection partners, organize waste stations/collection, and identify/monitor full waste stream mapping.
o Ensure industry certifications that align with initiatives are presented and obtained. Follow up on a re-certification.
• Align with MSM Corporate Environmental team to implement carbon footprint tracking. Additionally, organize projects to reduce for Mahou USA.
• Sustainable Culture: own and improve volunteer engagement with all Founders employees.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job will have no direct reports but will have delegation responsibility to the internal sustainability team and key individuals in the organization.

Education and / or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences or similar required. Two years related experience in corporate sustainability and/or environmental management preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or organization. Ability to record appropriate information on a batch by batch basis.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to computer rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
