Banquet Cook
Surly makes great beer. We also make great food and host great events. We are an award winning kitchen and we are looking for cooks that strive for excellence. We are looking for someone to join our Events cook team. This is an hourly position that reports to the Culinary Operation Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Events prep, production and expediting events
- Time management of multiple dishes and able to expedite and help execute banquets
- Ensuring that all dishes are cooked well and presented in an aesthetically pleasing way
- Preparing meals and food to meet the specifications of guests in a timely manner
- Properly measuring kitchen ingredients and food portions
- Able to read and make recipes as instructed
- Using kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers and warmers in food preparation
- Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward
- Keeping the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized
- Taking charge of kitchen closing and other side duties as directed by Chef Manager
- Ensuring prep team is properly labeling, size containers and put in proper area for use of prepped recipes.

- The ability to make good food consistently, even in a high volume kitchen
- Spanish a plus but not required
