Cannabis Sales Manager
We are currently hiring a Cannabis Sales Manager in Toronto, ON to lead sales and distribution of TeaPot, Canada’s best-selling cannabis tea. BBCCC, Inc. is a direct subsidiary of The Boston Beer Company, makers of recognized beverage alcohol brands such as Samuel Adams, Truly Hard Seltzer, Angry Orchard, Twisted Tea, and Dogfish Head. The Cannabis Sales Manager (CSM) is responsible for delivering BBCCC’s sales volume and distribution goals in Canada. They will work closely with internal team members, local distributors, and dispensary retailers at the direction of the Director, Head of Cannabis. The CSM supervises a third-party team of local sales representatives to drive physical availability of all beverages in the BBCCC portfolio (including TeaPot) and works closely with the Brand Execution Manager to drive National programs at the account level. The CSM will hold local distributors accountable for distribution targets, key chain account relationships, and independent dispensary relationships. The CSM will accomplish these goals while adhering to their training in BBC’s selling process and its application in the cannabis category. What You'll Brew:
Set & Monitor Sales Targets: Responsible for sales execution, goals, standards and wholesaler management by province
Align on forecast with leadership, distributors, and internal production team Set, monitor, and deliver distribution targets Set, monitor, and deliver velocity targets Build and execute plan to deliver distribution and programming with key chain retail accounts across the country (in conjunction with our wholesale partners) Develop and benchmark standards for retail execution
Sales Team Supervision and Distributor Management & Planning: Must be able to timely and successfully organize and deliver, with direction from the Head of Cannabis:
Supervise an indirect team of third party sales agents to maximize BBCCC distribution Hold Monthly Business Reviews and Annual Planning Meetings Form strategic partnerships with key chain accounts Dictate pricing strategies by package in accordance with BBC initiatives and market knowledge Spend time in market monthly with wholesale partners Work with wholesale partners to present to provincial buying boards, understanding and adhering to all annual innovation launch & presentation timelines
Market Management and Development (Hunting): Seeks and maintains new business by:
Frequent and structured time in market (minimum 2 days per week), calling on independent and chain retailers throughout Canada. Developing strategies to close identified opportunities in conjunction with distributor Help pioneer BBCCC’s on-premise strategy Develop strong trade programs with BBCCC team to drive consumer engagement and trial Identify opportunity for brand engagement with accounts and budtenders (incentives, educational presentations, samplings, POS, etc)
Product and Market Knowledge: Must remain up to date on:
TeaPot brand: styles, brand priorities, national programs, and brand strategy Beverage and cannabis industry trends and current market trends Market and competitors to include: distribution and volume trends, market share, distributor network, supplier network BBCCC’s sales data and trends to include: sales trends, opportunity gaps, customers, competitive activities, and BBC/distributor activities that affect the market
Budget Management: Must stay within all allocated budgets
Manage area’s sales and trade budgets Manage personal and team’s T&E budgets
Managerial Responsibilities:
Responsible for the entirety of the sales department for BBCCC Inc. Responsible for overseeing a team of independent/contracted sales agents (Approximately 10-20 agency representatives across Canada), with the authority and expectation to assess and continuously correct performance.

5+ years of sales experience Ability to operate a motor vehicle with the possibility of several times a day May be required to stand for several hours during the course of the work day
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and passion for regulated cannabis sales in Canada is strongly preferred Knowledge and passion for the alcohol industry and corporate culture a plus
