Inventory and Receiving Lead
The Inventory and Receiving Lead reports to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Modern Times Merch release schedule as well as receiving, merchandise, and material receiving. This individual will coordinate with the proper departments to meet those timelines and ensure that our product mix is optimized for sales. They will also have a watchful eye on all things merchandise warehouse-related, including maintaining warehouse organization, performing inventory counts, preparing outgoing tasting room orders as well and receiving all materials. Candidates must share Modern Times’ commitments to quality, safety, business ethics, and continuous innovation.
THE EVERYDAY VIEW
- Be the liaison champion between departments for merchandise to ensure that new merch offerings are on track according to the release schedule provided by Art department.
- Coordinate with the Marketing team to plan and promote new releases
- Coordinate with the Hospitality team to ensure all Modern Times properties are stocked properly for release and life of item.
- Assist in tracking item sales velocity through tasting rooms and online store and provide data to Art for future releases
- Assist multiple departments to ensure items are setup and displayed in a way that maximizes sales (including online store setup)
- Oversee the picking, packing, and shipping of online store orders
- Assist in developing a schedule and forecast for screen printing
- Perform scheduled merchandise inventory cycle counts with accuracy and in a timely manner
- Maintain customer service standards for online customers.
- Oversee weekly and monthly inventory as needed
- Request merch restock as needed while maintaining a lean inventory. Provide necessary data to inform purchasing decisions when required
- Assist with the monthly coffee subscription orders
- Build shipments to our satellite tasting room facilities
- Receive all shipments and follow all receiving protocols
- Modern Times website maintenance
- Adjust inventory levels and remove items as needed when inventory is low
- Adjust the layout of the store to highlight new items and improve customer experience
- Use Crafted ERP
- Create transfer requests as needed for tasting room orders
- Create production of any bundle items being sold
- Receive merchandise orders as needed
- Process production of screen-printed inventory
- Receive POs in Crafted ERP in a timely manner
- Be a team player able to interact with all levels within the organization
- Adhere to and enforce all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
- Other tasks as needed
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
- Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 2 years experience in a retail/customer service environment
- Ability to present information to decision-makers in a concise and organized format
- Someone with a logic-based approach to systems and efficiency
- Working knowledge of high-volume operations
- Able to drive a forklift or become certified
- Preferred prior knowledge of craft beer and specialty coffee desired
- Knowledge and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite. Emphasis on Excel
- Preferred comprehensive knowledge of Modern Times products, history, and heritage
- Able to handle multiple tasks at one time efficiently and with an upbeat, friendly attitude
- Able and willing to work evenings, holidays, and weekends
- Able to work independently and as a motivated team player
- Strong interpersonal skills, and a love for meeting and interacting with people
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to stand for prolonged periods
- Able to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs
- Able to manipulate valves and clamps
- Able to regularly lift/carry 44-pound boxes
- Able to regularly lift/carry 55-pound bags above waist level
- Able to regularly twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, crawl, lift, and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to
- 75 pounds using appropriate techniques and tools
- Able to lift/move 165 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
- Able to proficiently stack and move barrels on barrel racks
- Able to comply with safe chemical handling procedures, including personal protection equipment such as gloves
- and goggles
- Able to both work and thrive in a high-stress environment that has a quiet to moderate noise level
- Able to read and follow written English instructions
- Able to safely navigate the tasting room and snack bar areas, including crowded spaces
- Able to work in a factory/production environment that may be loud, slick, humid, cold, and hot
- Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors
- Able to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards
