We have an exciting opportunity to become an important team member of our vibrant 20BBL microbrewery. We have a new Brewer position opening at Bald Man Brewing where you will perform brewing, packaging, cleaning, maintenance and brand ambassador duties at the brewery. Duties will include, but will not be limited to, brewing and packaging beer, documenting changes in products in progress, following cleaning and maintenance schedule and procedures, cleaning all equipment, following our inventory management practices, and working with our Head Brewer and other members of the team to ensure all beer is of the highest quality and that the brewery is kept clean, functional, and up to Bald Man Brewing standards at all times.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
-Follow all Safety Policies and PPE requirements while performing tasks.
-Milling, mashing, lautering, wort boiling, cooling and transferring to fermenters.
-Racking beer from Fermenter to Brite Beer tanks, and ensuring all brewing processes are recorded properly.
-Always keep brewing facility clean and functional
-Follow Cleaning & Maintenance Schedules and consult the Head Brewer about cleaning needs and perform all required cleanings to the appropriate standard including tanks, Brewhouse, kegs, growlers and packaging equipment.
-Perform inventory counts of finished beer, grain, hops, and other raw materials inventory.
-Follow inventory procedures for all raw materials, chemicals, beer, small parts, packaging, supplies etc.
-Monitor quality, temperature, pressure, gravities, PH and carbonation of beers in tank
-Assist in packaging our beer
-Work with Head Brewer to keep an improvement log on all issues as they develop.
-Represent Bald Man Brewing at various events, festivals and promotions as needed.
-Promote good public relations and handle complaints and concerns professionally.
-Follow all brewery policies and procedures and follow current developments in local, state, and federal laws applicable to the service of alcohol, safe food handling, health standards etc.
-Label all packaged products in accordance with federal and state law using appropriate keg collars, labels and date codes.
-Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
Education and Experience:
-High school diploma or GED required.
-A formal brewing education from an accredited brewing program
-Experience in a Commercial Production Brewery preferred.
-Advanced knowledge and experience brewing various beer offerings (flavors, ingredients, etc.)
-A passion for craft beer, quality, and innovation.
-Ability to work a flexible schedule (Shift duration may vary based on brewing process)
-Must have their own vehicle, valid Driver's License, current insurance coverage and clean driving record.
-Forklift certified. (Certification available through company)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Strong communication skills to interact with customers, vendors, and coworkers in a professional manner.
-Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
-Possess the ability to multi-task and manage stressful circumstances associated with a fast paced and evolving work environment.
-Knowledge of brewing supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
-Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment.
-Good understanding of quality assurance / quality control and problem solving skills.
-Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, talk, hear, use hands to grasp, handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, crawl or bend, and perform motions of the hands and/or wrists.
-Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and be able to move kegs which weigh 165 pounds.
-While performing the duties of this position, the worker is exposed to inside environmental conditions, extreme heat, the presence of hot fluids, pressurized vessels and transfer lines, strong odors, chemicals, and moving machinery. The noise level in the work environment is moderate most of the time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000 to $58,000 depending on experience
