Inventory Specialist

Summary
The Inventory Specialist will lead activities around receipt, storage and methods to ensure beer and other materials are handled, counted and recorded accurately and safely into the inventory management system and material handling equipment at our Richmond, VA brewery and warehouse operation.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm ET
Responsibilities
- Perform and assign daily tasks for Inventory Coordinator team and ensure completion per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training documents; assist with encouraging and establishing a culture of accountability across team
- Manage SOP library for the site, creating or updating SOPs and training documents as required in coordination with other sites in the network with a focus on process harmonization
- Train Inventory Coordinator and Warehouse Team Members on inventory processes
- Assist with implementing, directing and sustaining continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor weekly purchase orders and ensure inbound shipments are accurate to purchase order and received into system within 24 hours
- Oversee and manage raw material staging mechanics supporting brewing and packaging operations
- Perform and monitor safe operation of material handling equipment for the purpose of receiving, sorting, counting, tagging, picking, locating, relocating, and delivering materials with accuracy, including warehouse supplies and materials
- Manage the reconciliation of inventory regarding load discrepancies, raw material deliveries and packaging finished goods inventory
- Ensure all process paths are following standard inventory management procedures and develop necessary reports to facilitate accurate inventory counts including records of all audits, counts and adjustments
- Ensure proper inspection, tagging, and identification of all incoming material during receipt
- Maintain and update accurate records of assigned inventory, handle related paperwork and follow departmental procedures, managing, performing and reconciling cycle counts
- Lead and conduct searches to locate products within the system and adjust records when there are discrepancies. Take steps to correct and prevent discrepancies and make recommendations for process improvements
- Maintain security over inventory, and in conjunction with management, monitor loss prevention program
- Oversee the organization, arrangement and cleanliness of the warehouse to facilitate the safe and efficient finding, receiving and counting, including rearranging and inventory of bulk ingredients and other materials
- High school diploma or general education degree preferred
- 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Prior experience with Warehouse Management System or Inventory Management System required
- Must have excellent working knowledge of computerized inventory procedures to include experience in material services, inventory control or production control
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and collaborate with others
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of brewery functions and how they relate to each other preferred
- Solid communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
- Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook, and strong Microsoft Excel skills with proven experience
- Positive, self-motivated attitude
- Forklift Certification preferred
Compensation, Benefits & Perks
- Annual Salary : $64,000 - $67,000
- Bonus Plan: 2.5% of Annual Salary
