Overview
The IT Engineer II – Operations role supports end users for computer, application, system, device, access, and hardware issues at the most technical and complex level. Additionally, this position is responsible for installations, upgrades and migrations as well as any day to day support. Occasional travel may be necessary.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands on and remote assistance to all BBG locations.
- Identifies, troubleshoots, researches, and resolves technical problems related to any computer, application, or infrastructure related issues.
- Documents and tracks all problems and resolutions.
- Provide assistance with issues and projects.
- Creates and updates process(es), trains coworkers, managers, and users.
- Liaises with outside vendors as needed.
- Provides troubleshooting and resolution for escalated tickets from the National Service Desk.
- Participation in on-call rotation and projects that are conducted between 6pm and 8am weekdays, and any time of day on Saturdays and Sundays. This includes holidays.
- Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ related experience in IT Support role
- Advanced PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
- Basic understanding and ability to execute Powershell commands
- Demonstrated technical mastery for desktop related issues. Computer imaging and set up.
- Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
- Analytic and Reporting skills
- Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone
Competencies:
- May help coordinate the work of junior members of the team.
- Resolves issues which are often varied and non-routine. Undertakes analysis and investigation to solve issues.
