Cellarman
Five Dimes Brewery is looking for a Cellarman to join our team as support for the brewing staff. Constant, effective communication with the entire brewing team is essential to ensure all role responsibilities are met in a safe, efficient, and accurate way.
Duties:
- CIP/SIP of all brewery vessels
- Wort and beer transfer
- Coordinate with brewing staff to ensure production schedule is met, and a plan of action is always ready for any production schedule adjustments that need to be made
- Yeast harvest, pitching, and health management
- Fermentation monitoring
- Manual cleaning of brewery equipment and parts
- Assist brewers with wort-creation and brew house operation
- Assist with packaging; including canning, keg filling & cleaning
- Strict adherence to sanitary and record-keeping standards
- QA/QC with brewing team
- General, basic facilities maintenance
- General, basic brewery equipment maintenance
Competencies:
- Strong work ethic and a solid team player
- Mechanically inclined
- Adaptable: willing to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to communicate efficiently with both the team and brewery customers
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strict attention to detail
- Desire to assist with tasks outside key responsibilities, including but not limited to festivals, tap takeovers, beer dinners and other similar events
Requirements:
- Lift 55+ lbs and move 165 lbs occasionally
- Stand on concrete floors for 8-10 hours per day
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as required, which may include days, nights and/or weekends
- Operate a forklift and other complex machinery
- Work in a non-temperature controlled, wet environment
- Work in tight areas while twisting, bending, pulling and pushing
- Ability to handle hazardous materials
- Frequent/daily use of ladders and stairs
