Phantom Farms Brewing is hiring an Assistant Brewer to join our amazing team at our Cumberland, Rhode Island brewery!

 SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting all brewing functions at PFB.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cleaning and sanitation – Maintain a clean and safe work production environment.
• Assist Head Brewers with wort production as needed. This way include weighing malt and hops
• Help with management of raw materials organization and storage
• Keg cleaning
• CIP tanks and equipment
• All cellar work to be completed with an eye toward low DO
• Work on the packaging/canning lines as needed
• Work with and report any mechanical issues
• Operate a fork lift safely
• Perform other jobs in the brewery as needed
• Assist other employees as necessary
• All other duties as assigned

• Mechanical proficiency sufficient to perform routine preventative maintenance and manageable repairs
• Business math and its application to brewing needs

• Bachelor’s degree in Brewing and/or related science preferred

REQUIREMENTS

• Prior brewing or related experience preferred
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Current Forklift certification preferred
• Position may require occasional weekend and/or early morning and/or evening work as well as potentially wet, warm, or cold working conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS 

In the unique and hands-on environment of beer brewing, employees encounter specific physical demands and working conditions, including:

·      Manual labor: Tasks such as lifting bags of grains, moving heavy equipment, and transferring large volumes of liquid. Required physical strength and proper lifting techniques.

·      Standing for extended periods: Often require employees to stand for long periods while performing tasks, necessitating endurance and comfortable footwear.

·      Height. Our orientation of a two-level cellar requires employees to work at heights, such as a ladder on a second level fermenter in our open layout building,

Job Type: Full Time. Up to 40-hour weeks

Hourly: Starting in $22/hour depending on experience.
