Join Orange County's newest brewing outfit! We're launching in August with full distribution throughout California and looking to add some more beer wranglers to the team!
The Brewer will be responsible for all brewing practices, including the day to day production and packaging of beer at the brewery, inventory management, cleaning and maintenance of brewing facility and all associated equipment and supplies. You will work closely with our Head Brewer to execute and/or develop recipes ensuring all processes and ingredients are to spec.
You will also coordinate with the COO/Head Brewer on daily & weekly schedules, team duty assignments, training and collaborate in achieving a high level of organizational process.
Duties include, but not limited to brewing, packaging beer, overseeing brewing and packaging process from beginning to end, recipe execution/development, and working with and directing other members of the team to ensure all beer that leaves the facility is of the highest quality and that the brewery is kept clean, functional, and up to Further Beer standards.
Operations
Execute and at times, develop recipes, submit required information on all brands, and provide beer names and draft descriptions according to Further Beer Co’s procedure.
Assist Head Brewer on production software data entry and upkeep.
Track brew logs, manage inventory, and submit purchase requests on time.
Ensure all brewing areas and all brewery are clean and comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards at all times.
Monitor all fermentation metrics and finish beer vitals and report anything out of spec once identified and always prior to packaging
Adhere Further Beer's QA/QC and lab policies keeping up with logs, sensory testing, and yeast management program
Keep abreast of orders, inventory, availability, and events
Monitor and maintain inventory of safety supplies for daily operations. Submit
purchase requests as necessary.
Meet with Head Brewer and COO each week to review/adjust the schedule, clear compatibility issues, compare inventory of finished goods, etc.
Represent Further Beer Co at various events, festivals and promotions. Promote good public relations and handle complaints and concerns
Submit all purchase orders and report deliveries to Head Brewer
Report all packaging quantities to Head Brewer and log promptly and accurately
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required
At least 1 year of professional production brewing experience
Special Requirements
Ability to work a flexible schedule: days, nights and or weekends. This is a weekday 1st shift position generally
Assist during events, on and off property and give tours when requested
Forklift certified preferred (certification available through the company). Must have own vehicle valid driver's License, current insurance coverage and clean driving record
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs or more
Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, push, pull and walk on uneven surfaces Must be able to climb stairs, as well as ladders
